Dear Ken Schoolland,
Greetings from the Swatantrata Center,
I am Raghavendar Askani, Director of the Swatantrata Center in India and founder of the Youth Parliament Program.
It was a great pleasure meeting you in San Francisco at Liberty International’s Technology & Freedom: A 21st Century Challenge event on November 1, 2025. I still remember your inspiring words from that day.
I’m deeply grateful to you for encouraging me to translate The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible: A Free Market Odyssey into Telugu, a major South-Central Dravidian language spoken primarily in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with over 96 million speakers worldwide. Known as the “Italian of the East” for its melodious tones and vowel-rich endings, Telugu has a vibrant literary tradition and is recognized as one of India’s Classical Languages.
I wanted to share some exciting news: I’ve begun reading The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible and have simultaneously started translating it into Telugu. This work follows my recent translation of Lawrence W. Reed’s essay, “I, Smartphone: Far Smarter than You Ever Imagined”, which I submitted to Liberty International.
Kindly extend my warm regards to Li Schoolland as well. I would be delighted to see her when we meet next.
Thank you very much for your support. Looking forward to connecting again soon.
Regards,
Raghavendar Askani
