By John Nyangulu, Founder and Executive Director of Manson Institute for Leadership Education (MILE). John is also the translator of JG into Chichewa language in Malawi.

MILE Academy hosted the Cheetah Generation Book Review Series at NICE Library in Mzimba, bringing together 30 young participants for an intellectual engagement centered on ideas of freedom, innovation, and human flourishing.

The sessions were anchored on The Journey of Jonathan Gullible: A Free Market Odyssey by Ken Schoolland and went beyond a traditional book discussion, encouraging participants to critically examine assumptions, question limiting systems, and explore pathways for personal and societal transformation in line with Malawi Vision 2063’s mindset change agenda.

Mr. Aaron Luhanga, Program Manager at the National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) Trust, Mzimba, delivered a keynote address on freedom, dialogue, and civic responsibility, emphasizing that freedom comes with responsibility, dialogue sustains democracy, and ethical leadership is grounded in accountability.

Participants engaged in reflective discussions and design-thinking exercises exploring barriers to innovation in Malawi, while proposing ideas for a more dynamic, innovation-driven future.

The event was made possible through the support of Atlas Network and Ken Schoolland the author of the book.
