DIKO CREATIVE INITIATIVE (DCI) ESTABLISHES JONATHAN GULLIBLE READERS GROUP AT GLORIOUS BAPTIST ACADEMY, JUBA, SOUTH SUDAN
From Juru Viola: Diko Creative Initiative (DCI) is excited to announce the formation of the Jonathan Gullible Readers Group at Glorious Baptist Academy, a church-founded secondary school in Juba, South Sudan.
The initiative aims to encourage a reading culture among students, promote critical thinking, inspire independent learning, and create a platform where young people can openly share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another through reading and discussion of Jonathan Gullible by Ken Schoolland.
So far, the group has successfully completed an introduction to the book, established group rules, elected student leaders, and appointed timekeepers to help ensure effective coordination and time management during sessions.
The group brings together enthusiastic students from Forms One to Three, and their curiosity, excitement, and willingness to participate have been truly encouraging. Their enthusiasm gives us hope for the positive impact this initiative can have on their learning and personal development.
To ensure that the programme does not interfere with regular academic activities, the group will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, after classes.
At DCI, we believe that investing in young people through reading, dialogue, and critical thinking is an important step towards nurturing informed, responsible, creative, and empowered future leaders.
We look forward to an exciting learning journey with the students of Glorious Baptist Academy as we continue to promote a culture of reading, curiosity, and intellectual growth among young people in South Sudan.
